Scholarships
Each year the Houston Chemical Association awards scholarships to member’s children that are currently enrolled as full-time students in schools of higher education (accredited universities, colleges, or vocational schools) and/or to graduating high school seniors accepted into schools of higher education as full-time students. To qualify their children for participation in the HCA Scholarship Program, the Association’s members must have met certain qualifications. (Click on the “Qualifications” link below.)
The HCA season is from July 1st to June 30th of the next year. Scholarship applications are accepted from May 1st through July 31st. Instructions for completing and submitting an application can be found by clicking on the “Instructions” link below. Scholarship Application Forms can be found in the “Application Form” link below. Notifications and reminders of events and timelines related to the Scholarship Application process will be e-mailed to members at the appropriate times throughout the HCA season.
Presentations of the Houston Chemical Association Scholarships will take place during the first HCA luncheon in September of each year. Scholarship recipients, at no charge, may attend this luncheon with their parent(s) to receive their scholarships. If a recipient is not able to attend the luncheon, then the scholarship check will be presented to the parent(s) if they are in attendance. If neither the recipient nor the parent is in attendance, the scholarship check will be sent via U.S. mail to the recipient’s address listed in the Application Form.
All Houston Chemical Association Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the annual Houston Chemical Association Christmas Scholarship Social held in December. A poster and album with the recipients’ pictures and a short biography will be displayed at the event.
